The insolvent fish wholesaler Product Trade Centre Germany (PTC GmbH) has a buyer. TFE GmbH (#TheFishExperts) will take over the business operations and all 80 German employees on 1 June 2018. The Serbian subsidiary of PTC Germany – Serv. Food DOO – was also acquired in the overall deal. As CEO of the newly founded parent company TSE Holding GmbH (#TheSupplychainExperts), food expert Christian Helms will be in charge. His long-time companion Thomas Schemmel will take over the operational management of the new TFE GmbH.
“We are delighted to have been awarded this contract,” says Christian Helms. And he continues: “In our opinion, the company has fantastic development opportunities. We will first discuss our content concept with the excellent team and then set the course for the success of the fish wholesale and processing business. We will not dismiss anybody, but will relocate the headquarters from Kempen to Bremerhaven. We want to make Bremerhaven the fish capital of Europe”.
Helms knows what he is talking about, as he has experience in putting ailing businesses back on a profitable footing. Most recently, he had taken over the then battered delicatessen retailer Rungis express from Meckenheim. He not only managed the turnaround within a few months: in March 2016 he sold the Cool Chain Group he had created, including Rungis express, profitably to the Metro Group. Helms und Schemmel – a good team that not only has in-depth national and international knowledge in the food sector, but also knows how to deliver and deliver.
The parties intend to keep the purchase price confidential. Helms stresses: “We have paid an appropriate price for PTC Germany”.
